The Whiteside County Senior Center serves every senior citizen in Whiteside County. We are funded 40 percent through a grant administered by the Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging. The remaining 60 percent comes from additional grants, organizations, businesses and individuals like you. We also depend on the United Way of Whiteside County and the Whiteside County Board. Without community support we could not continue to provide services to Whiteside County. The following are ways you can help.
Whiteside County Senior Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Your contribution in any amount is greatly appreciated. All gifts are tax-deductible.
Many volunteer opportunities are available. If any sort of volunteering, including but not limited to those opportunities listed below, piques your interest, download the Volunteer Application by clicking the button below.
We are always looking for new games to bring to the center. If you’re an expert at a game we do not offer, consider volunteering your time and talent so we can start it!
The fourth Thursday of every month we need volunteers to assist when food is dropped off from River Bend Food Bank. Boxes can be as heavy as 45 pounds.
If you have never met a stranger, this job is for you! Hosts and hostesses have friendly conversations with patrons, offer coffee or water, and are Jacks (or Jills) of all trades.
Various help is needed for our monthly free community meals and fundraiser meals.
Help food pantry clients shop at our pantry every Thursday. Volunteers serve from 12:30 until 3:00 p.m.
We will be closed on Monday, September 1st, in honor of Labor Day.
