ALZHEIMERS SUPPORT GROUP

Hosted by Morningside of Sterling, WCSC and CGH Health Foundation. You will receive confidential support and conversation, discussing dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. On-site respite care will be provided for your loved one during the meeting.

Being a member allows you access to our actives and discount on our trips. Our schedule of events is growing fast — we have a little bit of something for everyone. If you enjoy culture, entertainment and traveling, then come down and join our seniors Travel Club. It is a great opportunity to share your trips, learn about other seniors’ travels, meet travel bussies and discuss where you would like to visit in the upcoming months. Afterwards, stay and enjoy lunch with us. We’ll be serving brats, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and and a bun (subject to change).
NEW EVENT: Polling at WCSC

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Center will act as a voting polling location. All activities in the big room will be relocated to the dining area, with the exception of the pool tables. (Sorry, guys, but you can stop by Monday to play if you wish)

Susie’s one-year anniversary party at WCSC

Residents of Whiteside County, we need your assistance honoring our veterans on Nov. 10. Thanks to a generous donation by Dorothy Szewczyk, we have two American flag afghans, a flag blanket, red white and blue hot pot holders and hand warmers to give away to Whiteside County veterans. Please email us at email@example.com or mail at WCSC 1207 W. Ninth St. Sterling, IL 61081 with the name and phone number of a veteran you would like to honor with one of these gifts. The drawing will be Nov. 10 during our veterans coffee at 9 a.m. You need not be present to win, but we would love to see you!
Wheel of Fortune

Have you ever wanted to spin the wheel? Here is your chance!!! Move over, Pat Sajak and Vanna White, and make way for the Center’s very own stars, Patty and Selina. Starting this month, we will be introducing a new game to our Wednesday line-up: Wheel of Fortune. This game will begin right after lunch at 12:15 in the Big Room.
Looking for something to do this winter? AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax-filling help to those who need it most. We are looking for compassionate and friendly people to join our volunteer team this upcoming tax season. We’ll provide the training and support to help you learn new skills, and you’ll get a great feeling from helping someone else. Help is needed from greeting the tax payer to preparing the tax return. You do not need to be an AARP member. If you are interested or would like more information, please call Karen Berg at 815-625-5314.
